Patient Confidentiality

Everyone working for the NHS including all those working within our practice has a legal duty to keep information about patients confidential. Our members of staff are subject to this statutory duty and we have a strict confidentiality policy in place to ensure that all patient information, medical or otherwise remains confidential, secure and accurate.

Further, we will not share information that identifies you for any reason unless:

  • You ask us to do so

  • We ask and you give us specific permission

  • We have to do this by law

  • We have special permission because the interests of the public are thought to be of greater importance than your confidentiality

Should you wish to object to the sharing or use of confidential information recorded about you, then please make an appointment with a doctor to discuss this further.
