The partners of the practice are:

Nursing Staff

Our practice nurses are:

Our practice nurses are able to offer a wide range of services including: -
  • advice on minor ailments
  • blood tests
  • ECGs
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease monitoring
  • asthma monitoring
  • coronary heart disease monitoring
  • diabetes monitoring
  • advice on smoking, obesity and healthy living
  • contraceptive services
  • childhood immunisation
  • travel advice and immunisation
  • dressings, suture removal, ear syringing
  • treatment of minor injuries
Our nurses also offer a Triage clinic. This is an 'emergency, minor-illness, walk-in' clinic which is held in North Cornelly Surgery every morning. Please see 'Services' for further information. Please note that telpehone consultations are currently in place for Triage clinic, due to Covid.
 
In addition we employ a health care assistant and two phlebotomists.  They assist the practice nurses with blood tests, blood pressure monitoring and new patient checks.
 

Support Staff

The Practice Manager - Mr Matthew Haynes
 
If you wish to make enquiries about administration or non medical aspects of your treatment the Practice Manager may be able to help you. In his absence  Assistant Practice Managers Mrs Jane Fish and Mrs Beth Baker will try to assist.
 

Administration

The Practice employs the following support staff to complete our Primary Care Team:
  •  Three secretaries/Senior Receptionist
  •  Two prescribing clerks
  •  11 reception staff who manage the telephone and walk-in enquiries, make appointments and handle      repeat prescription requests
  •  2 administrative staff with responsibility for general administration including incoming correspondence from  secondary care and maintaining patient medical records and liaising with the Health Board

Attached Staff

District Nurses visit those patients who are housebound and requiring general nursing care. They include the elderly, chronically sick and  terminally ill. They are employed by Cwm Taf NHS Trust and assist our doctors and nurses in providing care to those unable to attend the surgery. They are based in the North Cornelly Clinic, Greenfield Terrace, North Cornelly. Health Visitors work closely with the doctors and are involved in running developmental screening and baby clinics. Their main aim is to promote health in families and young children but they will also visit the elderly. Health Visitors can be accessed at Child Health Clinic that operate on a Thursday afternoon in Stormybrook Surgery between the hours of 1:30pm and 5:30pm.
 
Community midwives work with the practice to provide comprehensive care for expectant mothers and their babies. They work in the community and help to run our antenatal care clinic located at Greenfield Terrace in North Cornelly. They may be contacted by telephoning 07967 368490.
